Romans 13:1- Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
Just wait... it will be out with "godliness = patriotism = unquestioning allegiance to the presidency" and in with "bash the ungodly socialist tyrant."
Churches like our friendly "I kissed a girl and I liked it then I went to hell" are going to have a field day for the next four years. Just sit back and prepare to see people be alienated.
Mt 5:43-45 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust."
Amen and Amen.

Amen! (To the verse, not to anonymous. Although you are correct, unfortunately, as well.)
ReplyDeleteI have a perverse eagerness to see the fresh waves of Crummy Church Signs to come.
ReplyDeleteBut this is a good one. That is, unless it's sarcastic.
No sarcasm here. For once :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to Lyzbeth for an equally appropriate verse for this week...
The Here link was mentioned tonight at church.
ReplyDeleteMt 5:43-45
ReplyDelete"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."
ReplyDeleteI so thankful that we have a God who is always in control and can give us true peace.
