If only I had known the date beforehand....

submitted by Jon Hoffman. Sign from Athens, GA.
So sorry to get this out one day late. Apparently, this church had yesterday pegged as the day we would all be in over our heads. Oh well. Hope everyone survived.

I'm guessing this is a sermon title or something, but it definitely raises more questions than it answers.

Send 'em in.

  1. It must have just been a local flood forecast, because me and my house are still here.

As for the questions vs. answers bit, I think it's actually working as intended this time. Want to know what to do when you're in over your head? Come inside and let us convert you.

Of course, the passerby has to be smart enough to figure out the implicit message.

  2. I attended college in Athens, GA, and I know exactly where this church and its crummy sign are. Happily, Athens FUMC's signs are usually *much* better than this.

  3. Heh. Sorry to post twice, but that reminded me of a sign in my town last week, on the front of a normally conservative Baptist church:

"The dangers of mixing fact and fantasy."

I can only hope assume that was a sermon title too, but it was a little unclear on what "fantasies" were being talked about.

    Dave Vogt.

This is way up in Prince George, Canada, by the way, but we don't necessarily have better signs for all that. Down the street there are two churches reading "Body piercings saved my life," followed by "Trade your pieces for God's peace." I wonder whether we're supposed to take them in tandem.
